High School

Within the Dunedin Rudolf Steiner School community there are parents  with a  long term aspiration of creating a Steiner high school, Prior to this eventuating, the Primary School must be a viable size with a full class at each year level.

There are currently four Steiner High Schools in Aotearoa/New Zealand, and having such an option in Dunedin would be a valuable addition to the options for secondary education in Dunedin.

Adolescence is a critical time in the development of a human being. Encouraging individual freedom goes hand-in-hand with developing individual responsibility. A Steiner High School could be imbued with a strong ethos of community responsibility and caring for the well being of our planet earth. The creation of a Steiner high school will foster appreciation of the dignity and uniqueness of each individual student in a setting that provides young people with the tools they need to create their future.
