"May my soul bloom in love for all existence" (Rudolf Steiner)
Nau mai, haere mai ki te kura !
Situated on the West Harbour, on the edge of beautiful bush in the historical city of Dunedin, the Steiner School offers a unique education for children from birth to thirteen years old.
We offer a full Steiner/Waldorf curriculum from playgroup and kindergarten through to the end of intermediate school. The Steiner approach addresses the whole person intellectually, artistically, socially and morally so as to develop each student’s innate self-discipline and strength of body and will.
Our school is the southernmost Steiner school in the world. It is situated on several hectares of land in a semi rural location on the slopes of Te Pahure o te Rangipohika, overlooking Otago harbour, with views out to Taiaroa Head.

Receive the child in reverence, Educate them with love, Let them go forth in freedom". Rudolf Steiner
The Dunedin Rudolf Steiner School moved to its present site in 2006 and is now at a stage when it needs additional permanent classroom spaces. This will be a significant development for the school, kindergarten, playgroups, and also for the wider community.
The school’s roll increased substantially since 2006. Currently, there are 60 school children, 40 kindergarten children, and many playgroup children as well as an active waitlist. Our next planned growth is to increase the Primary School to 96 students. Even without this future growth, the school’s current classroom space is insufficient. We’d like to thank everyone from the bottom of our heart for their support. We will build buildings that will last for decades to come and that reflect the environmental and educational values of this community. |
