Kindergarten Manager
We are a well-established Steiner Kindergarten set in the beautiful grounds of the Dunedin Steiner School. The kindergarten has three rooms for children aged 3 to 6 years of age and a playgroup for younger children and their parents.
This is an exciting time for the kindergarten and school with plans for growth and the development of new kindergarten buildings on the site. The manager works within the wider school management team. Their key responsibilities include:
This work could be done as part of a teaching role that is currently advertised or as a separate job. The hours for the management role are 5 hours per week in term time.
Ideally the person will be an ECE registered teacher. A commitment to working with the Steiner special character is essential.

- Compliance with Licensing requirements and health and safety matters
- Internal evaluations, annual and strategic planning and reporting
- Liaison between the kindergarten and the Ministry of Education / ERO
- Personnel management including relief staff
- Budget management
- Communication with relevant stakeholders

Kindergarten Teacher
We seek an ECE qualified teacher, preferably with Steiner experience or qualification to join our teaching team. A commitment to working with the special character is essential. This is a permanent position, initially working 4 days a week in Term 4 but moving to five days in 2027. The position will include some days working in the school holidays. The hours are 29 hours a week in 2026 and 35.5 hours a week from 2027. The position starts 9 November.
